At the Algoma University Business Society (AUBS), we believe leadership is more than just planning events or attending meetings; it's about relationships, shared values, and trust. That’s why we took a break from our usual work mode and headed to the cinema for a night of laughter, conversation, and connection.
A huge shout out to the AUBS events team for planning this casual but much-needed outing!
One Movie, One Team
That day at the cinema, we didn’t talk strategy or projects. But we did laugh (a lot), share snacks, and trade thoughts on the movie afterward like long-time friends. We came away feeling a little lighter and a lot closer.
It's easy to forget how important these moments are when you are focused on goals and deadlines. But they matter. Because the more time we spend together getting to know each other, the stronger our collaboration becomes.
Why Team Bonding?
For us at AUBS, Team bonding is not just a nice-to-have; it's a necessary investment. It helps us:
Build trust beyond our roles and titles.
Understand each other's strengths and quirks.
Collaborate more effectively when it counts, whether we’re planning fundraisers or representing the business society in professional settings.
When we spend time together outside formal settings, we create space for empathy and even inside jokes. These are the soft but essential elements of a strong team culture.
What Team Bonding Means to AUBS
At AUBS, team bonding is woven into our leadership culture. Whether it's movie nights or quick check-ins via Google chats, we are intentional about nurturing real relationships. It's how we grow not just as a society but as individuals and future professionals.
So here’s to more movie nights, more laughter, and more moments that remind us we’re more than just a team, we are a family.
