On a bright and sunny day at the Cambrian Mall, the Algoma University Business Society (AUBS) hosted a vibrant barbecue fundraising event. After weeks of planning and preparation, the grills were fired up, and the air quickly filled with the mouthwatering aroma of sizzling burgers, drawing in students, locals, and community members alike.
Our menu featured something for everyone: classic beef burgers, veggie burger options with cheese add-ons, chilled pop, and jumbo freezies to beat the heat. It was the perfect summer spread.
Before long, the parking lot was buzzing with energy. As the parking lot filled with people eager to support the cause and enjoy a good meal. We also received incredible support from the wider Sault Ste. Marie community. Teachers, construction workers, nurses, and other residents stopped by to grab a bite and show their encouragement. It was heartwarming to see people from all walks of life come together around a shared table, quite literally.
This experience was truly unforgettable. Not only did we raise enough funds to support our initiatives, but we also seized the opportunity to network, grow awareness about the AUBS, and demonstrate the values that guide our organization: community, growth, and leadership.
We want to extend a hearty thank you to our generous sponsors:
M&M Food Market – for providing delicious burger buns
Cambrian Mall & Consumer Centers – for graciously allowing us to host the event in their parking lot.
Your support helped make this event possible, and we are deeply grateful.
As we look ahead, we’re excited to keep building a strong and connected business community, one event and one burger at a time. Stay tuned for more events, initiatives, and opportunities to get involved with the AUBS!
